Barclays has teamed up with the Harrow Observer Series to give a local charity the opportunity to win cash to help it fullfil its dreams.

It is offering a first prize of s1,000 and two runner up prizes of s500 in the 2008 Let's Do It community awards.

Whether you know of a charity that you think deserves the money, or are involved with an organisation yourself, this is the chance to really make a difference.

To enter, simply write on the coupon on this page the details of the charity, what it does, where it is, why it deserves the award and what it would spend the money on.

Clip the coupon and send it to: Let's Do It 2008, Harrow Observer, Congress House,

Lyon Road, Harrow, HA1 2EN.

You may submit one additional A4 sheet (typed or printed) supporting your nomination.

Please note that this must be a registered charity or not for profit organisation. The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday, October 6.

Shortlisted entrants will be advised during October with the award ceremony taking place in November.

Supporting local causes

AT BARCLAYS, we take our responsibilities seriously. We are really proud of our leading community investment programme, which added up to s52.4million in 2007.

Barclays employees are the driving force behind our community investment programme, with 43,000 colleagues volunteering their time and raising funds to benefit 8,000 charities and community groups in 2007.

Over the last five years, Barclays people have raised more than s60million for their favourite charities with our help and matched funding.

Barclays employees in Harrow are really pleased to be working in partnership with the Observer.

Kerrin Eastwood, local network director, said: "Barclays strengthens the local communities in which we live and work by supporting a broad range of causes at a very local level. This competition ensures that Barclays community funds are made available to charities and community groups in the Harrow area that are most in need. We look forward to hearing about the excellent and worthwhile projects happening in the area."
