Labour ward councillor David Gawn, 34, was due to face Hendon Magistrates' Court today over a charge he tried to steal £7,000 from a Dennis O'Brien on August 5 2011.
Gawn, of Lankers Drive, South Harrow, denied attempted theft at the same court on January 5. He is on unconditional bail and his case is expected to be committed to the rown court for a jury trial.
The national Labour Party suspended Mr Gawn from Harrow Council's Labour Group until the matter is resolved.
HARROW: A new completion date has been agreed for vital gas mains replacement work currently underway in Harrow to replace 1,500m of metallic gas mains in Sudbury Hill and London Road with tough plastic pipes.
The over-running project was due to be completed by February 29 but this date has now postponted to March 16 after discussions between National Grid and Harrow Council.

ART students at a Harrow college strutted their stuff down the catwalk in a fashion show.
Eleven first and second year students at St Dominic's Sixth Form, in Mount Park Avenue, Harrow on the Hill, who had been focusing their efforts on fashion and jewellery designs, celebrated the end of their coursework by showcasing the work produced as part of their studies.
From Barbie dolls legs and hula hoops to gas masks and Christmas lights, collections dealt with themes such as obsessive behaviour, claustrophobia, pattern and performance, which have formed the focus of study since September.
The art teaching staff were really pleased with the efforts of the students and said in a statement: "Not only was the event a lot of fun but the hard work will pay off with good grades."
