College visited by Olympic medallist

AN OLYMPIC rower paid a visit to a college to teach students about the
importance of sport.
Alan Campbell, who won a bronze medal in the Men's Single Sculls event
at the London 2012 Olympic Games, visited Harrow College's Harrow on
the Hill Campus in Lowlands Road on Tuesday, December 18.

The athlete gave an insight into what it takes to become an Olympian
in a talk to the BTEC Sports students.
His message to them was: "Not everyone can achieve a gold medal but
everyone can achieve their personal best."
The students had their photo taken and were given the opportunity to
hold the Olympic medal.
Harrow College sports lecturer Shelley Mitchinson said: "It was really
inspiring and motivational for the students. Many of the BTEC Sports
students are doing their extended projects on the Olympics at the
moment so it was great for them to meet an Olympic athlete."

We'd like to hear from you.
